Ophelia Gordon, an accomplished pianist, epitomizes the essence of a musical polymath.

Her journey began at the prestigious BRIT School, where she specialized in classical guitar and piano, and continued through her academic pursuits at Durham University and City University London, earning degrees in music. This path reflects her deep, multifaceted commitment to her art. Ophelia's mastery in classical guitar was paralleled by her role as the principal double bassist in her university orchestra, showcasing her extraordinary versatility and ability to transcend traditional musical boundaries.

Ophelia's performances have adorned iconic venues such as the South Bank, The Royal Albert Hall, St. John's Smith Square, LSO St. Luke's, and The Sage Gateshead, leaving an indelible imprint on the classical music landscape.

A passion for performance.

Following her graduation, Ophelia experienced a pivotal shift towards the piano. This transition gave rise to a flourishing career in teaching, performing, and accompanying. Her exceptional talent has not only earned her numerous first prizes but also recently secured her the prestigious top honor in the ARS Nova International Competition.

What distinguishes Ophelia is her unique musical sensibility that bridges a variety of genres, reflecting her unbridled passion for exploration. Her repertoire, extending from classical to jazz and beyond, positions her as a beacon of the fusion of diverse musical influences. Her next endeavor involves a recording contract with Divine Arts Recordings, focused on producing an album that highlights the captivating music of Kapustin. This project is set to be a pioneering venture, blending the classical realm with a dynamic touch of jazz. 

As Ophelia embarks on a new chapter, a master's in piano performance at the renowned Trinity Laban awaits. This endeavor represents a continuation of Ophelia's dedication to musical excellence, promising to deepen the understanding of the craft and further refine artistic expression. She’s also just been appointed resident pianist for the ASPSNY festival at the Manhattan School of Music.
