Meet her Students…

“I always enjoy and value my occasional lessons with Ophelia Gordon. As a late returning adult, her approach is flexible enough to explore questions 'beyond my grade'. I need that. But she is always careful to draw me back to core learning to develop my technique.”

— Howard, grade 8.

“We first met Ophelia during lockdown. Her ability as a teacher stood out as brilliant, particularly as she was able to motivate and engage our 7 and 5 year old boys virtually. Lessons have continued and our sons have a love for the piano and look forward to their weekly lessons”

— Ferisha, Parent.

“I achieved my ARSM diploma qualification. She is a highly reliable and proficient teacher, who emphasises how important it is to play for fun, as well as in order to practice and build on your skillset. This overall led to my technique improving greatly throughout my time with her.”

— Tilly, ARSM.

“Miss Gordon taught me piano for six years. She is a patient, driven, and relatable tutor who always strived for me to reach my full potential and in doing so helped to build my confidence. The lessons were always very interactive and enjoyable. Miss Gordon also supported me immensely throughout my GCSE music and highlighted the importance of playing piano for enjoyment and not just for graded practice. I would highly recommend her as a piano tutor and mentor.”

— Jasmine Ismonnd, grade 7.

“Upon commencing piano lessons with Ophelia towards the end of Year 4, my parents and I began to notice that I became fond of playing the piano very quickly. This meant that she helped me coast through the Me and My Piano Parts 1 and 2 at an incredible pace and decided to expose me to ABRSM Grade 1 pieces, which I went on to achieve a distinction in during the Autumn Term of Year 5. Ophelia recognised my ability and passion, and decided to further push me and appear for my Grades 2 and 3 simultaneously, that too towards the end of Year 5. Such genuine encouragement for rapid progress from any piano teacher is unheard of and you are always challenged to be better! Ophelia also makes any student feel very comfortable due to her patience and good nature and playing with her every week rid me of my stress during my GCSEs. If there is one thing that Miss taught me above everything else, it was that “music is a journey” and one result of this journey was my achievement of a Merit in Grade 8 Piano. I would highly recommend Ophelia.”

— Atharva Narkhede, grade 8.
